About
George Zwierzynski Jr. is an award-winning director and founder of Purple Stuff, a company with a name as ridiculous as some of the ideas it’s somehow convinced Fortune 500 brands to fund. He’s directed commercials starring Howie Mandel, Kenan Thompson, Tony Romo, and Matty Matheson, proving he can work with anyone—whether they’re a chef, a quarterback, or a germaphobe.
George was formally the VP, Head of Production at Onion Inc., where he oversaw the strategy and execution of all editorial, branded and episodic video content that made people laugh, cringe, or question capitalism—sometimes all at once.
George honed his directing chops at Dan Harmon’s (NBC’s Community and Rick and Morty) Channel 101, where filmmakers had 5 minutes to win over an audience or be voted off the screen. He survived. He’s also worked with History, CNBC, Discovery, and ESPN, because even serious networks need someone who knows how to make a trebuchet or earnings report seem entertaining. His directing and editing work has picked up awards in both advertising and the indie film circuit—he just wishes those awards came with a reimbursement for the submission fee.
